A morning workout alarm for two people who train together
Training partners need one alarm time, one snooze cap, and one fallback text. Set it for training days only, and test it before dawn. Rest days stay off.

A training partner who is awake and a training partner who is "on the way" are different people. The alarm should settle that before someone is standing outside. This works for couples, friends, and roommates. It does not require you to share a life. It requires you to share a start time.
Set the workout, then the alarm
Pick the session first: the place, the start, and the days. Then set the alarm early enough to dress and travel, not at the minute the workout begins. A 6:00 gym with a 15-minute walk is a 5:40 alarm. Say both times so nobody argues about which one you missed.
Repeat it only on training days. Apple's Clock app lets you choose the days an alarm repeats. A daily 5:40 that also rings on rest days will get turned off, and then it will be off on Tuesday too. Rest days belong in weekday and weekend wake rules even if your "weekend" is a Wednesday off.
One snooze, then a message
Training mornings fail in the gap between the first alarm and the "I'm up" text. Cap snooze at one, or at zero if you are meeting someone who left their house. The person who is ready sends one message at the agreed minute if the other challenge is still open. They do not send five.
A short challenge is a clean handoff: both phones show a completed wake step before anyone is outside. Design it so it takes seconds. The constraints are in how to design a wake challenge. Memory match or tiny math is enough. A fitness quiz is not.

If both people use iPhone, install SyncUpAlarm and run this routine with a shared wake setup.
Sleep still outranks the plan
If the session requires either person to cut a realistic night, move the workout. The shared alarm will not create sleep you did not get. A paused week during travel or illness is normal. Name the resume day when you pause. The cases for leaving it off are in when not to sync an alarm.
A four-line deal
- Training days and start time.
- Alarm time, including travel.
- Snooze cap and the single fallback message.
- What "we're off today" must be said by the night before.
Send those four lines once. Then put the alarm on both iPhones and test the sound in the afternoon, not in the gym parking lot.

FAQ
Do workout partners need Partner Sync?
You need the same time on both phones and a way to see that the other person is actually up. Partner Sync is built for that second part. Two separate Clock alarms plus a text also work until the text gets sloppy.
What if one person always cancels?
Change the plan. Fewer days, a later time, or solo training. An alarm cannot motivate someone who no longer wants the session.
Should the alarm include a challenge on easy days?
Use the challenge on days you are meeting. Skip it on solo days so the tool stays tied to the commitment.
